Since the 11th Five-Year Plan,my country's plywood industry has developed rapidly and has become the world's largest producer and exporter of plywood, and its output ranks first in the world. The plywood industry has achieved three major changes, namely, the industrial layout has shifted from natural forest areas in the country where logs are produced to planted forest production areas, the main body of enterprises has shifted from state-owned enterprises to private enterprises, and the production of raw materials has shifted from log-based to comprehensive utilization of fast-growing and high-yield forests. However, with the expansion of production scale, resource, environment and factor constraints such as national standards, product structure, raw material sources, and international environment have become increasingly apparent. The plywood industry is faced with the pressure of profound transformation, and the plywood enterprises are under great pressure. How to develop in the next step requires further discussion and analysis.
1.There are also many problems. The prominent manifestation is that the scale of the enterprise is too small and the product structure is single. The reason is:plywood enterprises are a new product after the reform and opening up,that is,the age of the factory is too short, the equipment department is advanced, and the quality of raw materials is inferior. It is generally produced by non-card machine peeling;and it is generally a family workshop, with expansion of production capacity and capital. The process of accumulation is very slow. They tend to work independently, mostly processing for other foreign trade companies. It is very difficult to achieve large-scale operations.Once the demand changes,it is difficult for companies to calmly respond.
Second, the management level and management methods of plywood enterprises have not been in line with international standards, and have not reached the international advanced level.
Most companies have almost no R&D investment, brand awareness is not strong, publicity and marketing planning are not enough, many companies do not even have a marketing department. Many enterprises are still in a state of extensive operation, backward management and low efficiency. At the same time, the single product structure, low technical content and added value, and low awareness of brand-name products are also common problems. Most of the plywood produced in China belongs to the middle and low-end products in the international market.Although the international market can be occupied by low-price advantages, enterprises are only maintaining low-level repetitive production. It is difficult to improve product competitiveness through innovation.Product prices Unable to improve, the profitability of the company is narrow, and the ability to resist risks is insufficient.
Third, the lack of good raw materials leads to the lack of good products, which is an important factor for the lack of sufficient competitiveness of my country's plywood in the international high-end market.
The source of raw materials directly affects the quality of plywood. At present, most of the raw materials of domestic plywood are fast-growing poplar and fast-growing eucalyptus, and the quality cannot be compared with foreign large-diameter wood. The core board, which has an important influence on the quality and service life of plywood,is unsatisfactory. It has always been a bottleneck in the development of domestic plywood. The low quality of the core board, veneer splicing and assembly craftsmanship rely solely on manual production, which seriously affects the strength and service life of the plywood.
Fourth, rely on the international market and be controlled by others.
Currently,anti-dumping and countervailing investigations on Chinese products are increasing in the international market. What is the situation facing my country's export of plywood products?Due to excessive reliance on the international market, many companies closed down after the 2008 financial crisis. In the final analysis,it is because the domestic market has not been well grasped, and the plywood export market is highly concentrated. The export feeling and the region are mainly the United States, the European Union,Japan and ASEAN.In 2007,the above four markets together accounted for 63.8%of my country's total exports,of which the US market alone accounted for almost 30%.After the outbreak of the financial crisis, developed countries such as the United States and Japan felt that the market demand was reduced, and the plywood imports from my country were greatly reduced, which had a huge impact on Chinese enterprises.
5.With environmental protection and green consumption, the quality requirements of imported forest products from developed countries are extending to safety, hygiene, environmental protection, and health, and the technical threshold requirements for products are getting higher and higher.
In the past, traditional physical indicators such as product specifications, apparent defects, and bonding strength that Chinese companies were concerned about could no longer meet the new quality requirements of the international market.More and more Western countries are beginning to require forest certification for plywood. On May 22,2008,the United States formally passed the amendments to the Lacey Act regarding plant protection. In July 2010,the"Composite Wood Products Standard Act"signed by US President Obama, including plywood and other products, came into effect on January 3,2011.This is proposed on the basis of the American CARB certification and is regarded as the most stringent formaldehyde limit regulation in the world. All this poses a huge challenge to my country's plywood export.
Six.The wood supply needed for China's plywood production is uncertain.
Timber resources,as the most important element of primary production, are vital to the development of the plywood industry. The acquisition of timber resources should first be based on domestic, and at the same time actively develop foreign markets. The government should introduce preferential policies to support the construction of fast-growing and high-yielding forest bases, strive to improve the quality of planted forests, realize the conversion of domestic timber supply to artificial fast-growing forests as soon as possible, and reduce dependence on imported wood.
Seven. The government should support a group of plywood enterprises to become bigger and stronger, and through these enterprises, promote the upgrade of the entire industry and strengthen industrial agglomeration.
Studies have proved that the more enterprises belonging to the same industry accumulate in an area, the more specialized resources such as labor, capital, energy, and transportation will be imaginary, and the production cost of the entire industry will decrease and the production efficiency will be improved.,The enterprises in the cluster will be more competitive.
8.Enterprises should strengthen technological research and innovation, introduce advanced foreign production technology, and improve product quality.
On the one hand, enterprises must increase the development of the existing domestic and foreign markets and increase the existing market share;on the other hand, they must strive to find and explore emerging international markets, optimize the layout of plywood export space, and diversify foreign trade risks.
Finally,we must give full play to the important role of industry associations. The association should build a platform for small and medium-sized enterprises to communicate in technical consulting, management consulting, training, and market development. In product trade, maintain the order of the industry, regulate trading activities, prevent vicious competition among enterprises, and arbitrate market disputes in a timely manner
